A Simple Introduction to Eccentric Reducers

Definition
An eccentric reducer is a kind of pipe fittings used between two pipes of different diameters. Its forming processes are reducing, expanding or reducing plus expanding, and we can adopt stamping process for eccentric reducers with certain specifications.

Besides producing eccentric reducers by using steel pipes as raw materials, we can also manufacture eccentric reducers with certain specifications by stamping process. The shapes of the dies used to stamp and stretch the steel plates after blanking should be designed according to the dimension of the eccentric reducers' inner surface.

Structure Characteristics
Eccentric reducers are made from carbon steels, and their specifications are represented in: DN(bigger diameter) X DN(smaller diameter) X WT.

Eccentric reducer standards: National Standard, American Standard, British Standard and a variety of non-standard high-pressure stamping.

Eccentric reducers feature in strength significantly higher than that of carbon steel containing same amount of carbon, good toughness, plasticity, weldability and corrosion resistance.

Applications
1. We need to use the reducers when the flow of the fluid in the pipeline changes. For example, the flow rate increases, decreases, or just slightly changes.

2. In order to prevent cavitation, we need to use the reducers in the inlets of pumps.

3. In order to be connected with joints of the instruments(such as flowmeters, regulating valves), we should use the reducers.
